How does this speed test work? ▼
The test downloads a file from our server to measure download speed, uploads data to measure upload speed, and sends small requests to measure ping latency. All tests run in your browser — no app or plugin needed. Our server is located in Singapore.
Is this speed test accurate? ▼
Results depend on your connection to our server. For the most accurate results, close other tabs and apps that use bandwidth during the test. Wired connections give more consistent results than Wi-Fi. The test measures your speed to our Singapore server — your speed to other servers may differ.
What is a good internet speed? ▼
For general browsing and email: 10-25 Mbps is sufficient. For HD streaming: 25-50 Mbps. For 4K streaming: 50+ Mbps. For gaming: low ping (under 30ms) matters more than raw speed. For remote work with video calls: 10+ Mbps upload is recommended. For households with multiple users, multiply accordingly.
Why is my speed different from my ISP's advertised speed? ▼
ISPs advertise "up to" speeds under ideal conditions. Real-world speeds are affected by: distance to the server, network congestion, Wi-Fi interference, router quality, number of connected devices, and time of day. Testing with a wired connection at off-peak hours gives the closest result to your plan's maximum.
